Online Abuse

The parent discusses with his/her children about the dangers of inappropriate content on the internet by storytelling.

STEP 1: Ask your child the following question: Do you believe that all the pictures you see on the internet are real? Let your child express himself/herself without interrupting them.

STEP 2: Explain that on the internet we can never know if the other person is actually real or not. We can see and talk with strangers and we don't know what they look like in real life. So we need to be cautious because we don't know if the other person wants to hurt us. People who try to deceive us, usually ask you for personal information, such as your name, address, interests, hobbies, relationships and might lie to you about themselves so to make you believe them and trust them.
