Definition of Digital Footprint

STEP 1: Explain to your child what a digital footprint is by narrating the story below:

STEP 2: Read this story to your child: Think about when you walk on the sand. As you walk, the traces of your footprint stays on. You can walk down the beach and come down and still see your traces. Everytime you use the internet or you watch a video or play a game, our digital footprint is recorded, and record everything we see or do online.

STEP 3: Ask your child what a digital footprint is and discuss it.
